MONKEY SAFARI
Biography:
Meet Sven and Lars, the dynamic duo and real-life brothers behind Monkey Safari. When they’re not swinging from tree to tree in the electronic music jungle, they’re making some serious waves with their infectious melodies and groovy beats. Lars moonlights as ‘Borneo’, while Sven takes a spin as ‘DJ Island’ in their solo endeavors, but when they join forces, they unleash the full power of Monkey Safari.
They’ve been evolving like nobody’s business, perfecting a sound that gets the party started while staying true to their melodious roots.
With hits like ‘Cranes’ and ‘Walls’ under their belts, they’ve caught the attention of artists like John Digweed, Kölsch, Guy Gerber, and Josh Wink. They even got to play remix tag with the legendary Moby.
When they’re not in the studio, they’re tearing up the stage at renowned events like Fusion Festival, Time Warp, and Awakenings Festival. These guys know how to bring the heat, and their albums are a testament to that fiery passion for live performances.
Their 2018 album ‘Odyssey’ and its subsequent remixes was a star-studded affair featuring the likes of Carl Cox, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, and Tensnake. They kept the good vibes rolling with their third album ‘HI’ in 2019, serving up some delicious, sun-soaked tracks perfect for a day at the beach or a night on the dance floor.
In August 2021, they dropped their fourth album, ‘Love Will Set U Free’, which showcased the purest form of Monkey Safari magic yet. With the world turned upside down, Sven and Lars embraced the chaos and cooked up an album that captured the essence of what makes them truly special.
These guys have been busier than a barrel of monkeys, releasing singles on Anjunadeep, scoring a hit with ‘Safe’ on Joris Voorn’s Spectrum imprint, and remixing tunes for artists like Jan Blomqvist, Booka Shade, and Australien super band RÜFÜS DU SOL. They’ve also buddied up with the legendary Get Physical label, where they unleashed the massively successful ‘Body Language Compilation’ in 2022.
As we swing into 2023, Monkey Safari have some exciting changes in store. They’re bidding farewell to their label ‘Hommage’ after a fantastic 10-year run and launching their new music brand, ‘Good Vibes from Paradise’ So buckle up, folks, because Monkey Safari is are just getting started!
This will be Monkey Safari’s debut Hawaii appearance.
