Centered presents – DAMON JEE (Correspondant | Dust & Blood | France)

June 27 @ 11:59 pm - June 28 @ 7:00 am

Saturday, June 27th

Damon Jee is credited as the founder and godfather of Dark Disco which has evolved into modern day Indie Dance music. We were thrilled to host Damon Jee as one of our first headlining acts 8 years ago, and can’t wait to have this pioneer back!

Centered presents,

DAMON JEE

BIO:

Damon Jee is a French DJ and producer working since the early 1990s, recognized as one of the credible voices of Dark Disco — the rock-inflected, melancholic strain of dance music he himself describes as too dystopian for disco and too musical for techno. His roots are in electro house, where he first produced alongside fellow Frenchman Olivier Giacomotto for labels like Definitive and CR2, before pulling his nineties influences — Nine Inch Nails, The Pixies, New Order — directly into his sound: distorted guitars over off-beat basslines and hard-engineered drums. He also runs the heavier NOZZ alias, the collaborative Holographic Planes project with Alvaro Cabana, and since 2018 his own label, Critical Monday, home to releases from Curses, Autarkic and Fairmont.

His standing is measured in label pedigree and peer support rather than chart awards. His signature Chamaniac EP was signed by Jennifer Cardini to Correspondant and drew support from Andrew Weatherall, Solomun and Joris Voorn, while his breakout remix of Pardon Moi’s “Power to the People” (Roam) picked up Solomun, Job Jobse and HAAi. His catalog spans well-regarded underground imprints including Correspondant, Roam, Hafendisko, Suara and Sincopat. Beyond Chamaniac and the Pardon Moi remix, his strongest releases include “Ride Alone” (Correspondant), the conceptual “Dear Humans” EP with Snem K (Rotten City), and remix work for Dave Seaman, Renato Cohen and Affkt.

On stage, verifiable bookings include DAVE: A 3 Room Odyssey at E1 in London — a Psytrance/Techno/Dark Disco event alongside Tronik Youth and Khainz — and Kiku Room in San Diego. His press bio also references headlining across Spain, Australia and Mexico, though those specifics are unsourced; his RA past-events page would be the authoritative reference for a fuller gig résumé.
