BIO:
A rising force in New York City’s electronic music scene, Kanykei is a DJ, producer, and co-founder of the ground breaking event-producing collective AIONIA.
Her debut EP, Sun Reign, released in November 2024 on Katermukke in collaboration with Niconé, has garnered critical acclaim for its atmospheric textures and melodic depth. Kanykei has shared the decks with some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Âme, Nicole Moudaber, Green Velvet, and LP Giobbi. Her performances have graced iconic spaces like Elsewhere, House of Yes, and Do Not Sit On The Furniture, earning her a reputation for delivering dynamic, high-energy sets. Beyond NYC, her reach extends across North America, with appearances in Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, and Hawaii. A regular at Burning Man, she’s brought her unique sound to revered camps such as Hot Mess and Pink Mammoth, seamlessly blending genres to create moments of collective euphoria on the dancefloor.

The name “Broken Hill” pays homage to the producer’s deep-seeded heritage in the rugged outback of Australia. Entrenched in his craft and committed to pushing boundaries in Dance Music – San Diego based Broken Hill is characterized by his intricate rhythms, lush melodies, and highly danceable basslines.
Broken Hill was exposed to electronic music early on by his father – a passionate dance music fanatic – who sparked the fire within the young music aficionado to become a producer and sound engineer. As the lead audio engineer at The Music Company (TMC) Studios in San Diego, California, Broken Hill works with a diverse array of musicians daily to help mentor, mix, and master their projects.
Drawing inspiration from years of experience in the studio, Broken Hill crafts his productions using an array of both digital and analog gear. With elements of Indie Dance and references to Detroit Style Techno & House being in the forefront of his style, his unique blend of influences results in highly intricate productions that truly stand out from the rest. The young producer’s works have garnered the support of listeners & industry figures such as Solomon, Innellea, Super Flu, Ivory, Marc De Pulse & Elif to name a few. His 2024 Change Your Mind EP on Moscoman’s Disco Halal broke the top 20 in Beatport Indie Dance Charts & Received worldwide support from DJ’s.
Broken Hill’s live performances are just as ornate as his productions – delivering high-energy DJ sets filled with endless rhythm and harmonic elation to cities and parties such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and across his hometown of San Diego so far in 2024. As a successful producer and unparalleled sound selector, Broken Hill is leading the charge for a new generation of dance music artists & will continue to make his mark in the years to come.
