LEE FOSS BIO:
Lee Foss cut his teeth in Chicago’s 90s underground, immersing himself in house, disco, and the raw pulse of the city’s legendary nightlife. A turning point came in Ibiza around 2001 when he met Jamie Jones — an alliance that would spark the Hot Creations label, the Hot Natured project, and a radical shift in his artistic trajectory. Foss quickly earned acclaim for solo releases across imprints like Culprit, Wolf + Lamb, No. 19, Hot Creations, and later his own imprint, Repopulate Mars.
He’s racked up serious industry credentials: in 2010 he was the highest new entry in the Resident Advisor Top 100 (#38), and by 2011 he’d climbed further into the top tier. Hot Creations under his stewardship took home “Record Label of the Year” honors at the DJ Awards in 2019, while his newer label, Repopulate Mars, quickly earned DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough Label distinction. Tracks like “Electricity” with MK earned Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune status, and Hot Natured singles like “Benediction” and “Reverse Skydiving” even breached UK chart territory.
On the DJ front, Foss is a globe-trotting force—he’s held major slots at Fabric in London, Watergate in Berlin, The Warehouse Project in Manchester, Warung in Brazil, The Standard Rooftop in Los Angeles, Spybar in Chicago and beyond. Beyond mere performance, he’s a tastemaker: he’s nurtured breakthrough artists such as John Summit, Mau P, and Michael Bibi through his label infrastructure, championing their work and integrating their sounds into his sets. Foss’s trajectory is anything but static—he’s consistently evolving as artist, imprint leader, and curator, positioning himself as a central architect in today’s global underground house landscape.
